This was an exercise to redesign a website that had potential for improvement. The Internet Archive is an invaluable resource but doesn't exactly have the polish it deserves. The challenge was to simplify without just removing everything– to consolidate and remove redundancies.
Currently on the Internet Archive, there are three horizontal navigation bars with two serving the same purpose. There are also two search bars– the first of which is for one the Archive’s projects and not the collection itself. The focus was to reduce the clutter and streamline the upper half of the homepage, while keeping the website on an easy to navigate grid.
